The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Fuerza Regia's (17-13) road victory over 9th ranked Abejas (15-15) 94-89 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Abejas won fourth quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St., agency: SportsTalent) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The best for the losing side was American forward Eugene Phelps (198, college: Long Beach St.) with 27 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia moved-up to seventh place. Abejas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Barreteros (#10) in the next round. Abejas will play against Gansos in Ciudad de Mexico and hope to secure a win.
