A very close game took place in Eleusina between Apollon Patras and Panelefsiniakos. Seventh ranked Apollon Patras (5-4) got a very close victory on the road over 12th ranked Panelefsiniakos (2-7). Apollon Patras managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 22-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian swingman Vladimir Petrovic-Stergiou (199-77, agency: BeoExcell) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. point guard Nikos Argyropoylos (186-78) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (189-83, agency: FCM) who recorded 13 points and 4 assists and the former international guard Nikos Papanikolopoulos (192-79) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Panelefsiniakos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Apollon Patras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ikaros and AGOR. Panelefsiniakos lost their third game in a row. Panelefsiniakos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kavala. Apollon Patras will meet at home league's second-placed Panionios in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panelefsiniakos will play against PAOK (#3) in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.
