Regular Season Round 9: Idaho S. - Austin T. 88-98

Austin’s Luther Head came off the bench to lead the Toros with 21 points and secure a 98-88 road win for the fourth consecutive victory over winless Idaho. Justin Dentmon added 16 points for the Toros, and Rick Jackson had 11 points and nine rebounds as Austin shot 54.3 percent from the field. Tyler Wilkerson added 14 points and Aubrey Coleman had 10. Idaho’s Will Barton matched Head’s effort in his second game with the Stampede, but didn’t have the supporting cast. Idaho’s struggles continued, making just 34-of-84 shots (40.5 percent), as wing players Seth Tarver and Durrell Summers made a combined 3-of-18 shots. Scoring was back-and-forth and the game was tied at 7:40 in the second quarter and Idaho led 52-46 at the half before Austin began to pull away in the third quarter. The Toros outscored the Stampede in the third 33-19, mainly due to hot shooting from Head.
