A very close game took place in Turku between Kerava Energia Team and TuRi. Eighth ranked Kerava Energia Team (5-10) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked TuRi (4-12). Kerava Energia Team managed to escape with a 3-point win 76-73 in the fight for the eighth place. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 35-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American guard Earlysia Marchbanks (180, college: Oregon St., agency: Interperformances) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Shantale Bramble-Donaldson (185-90, college: Louisiana Tech) supported her with 15 points and 17 rebounds. Four Kerava Energia Team players scored in double figures. Kerava Energia Team's coach Pyry Pulkkinen allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds by Canadian guard Brittany Hedderson (175-90, college: Buffalo) did not help to save the game for TuRi. International center Sofia Pelander (188-92) added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Kerava Energia Team maintains eighth position with 5-10 record. Newly promoted TuRi keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Kerava Energia Team will meet at home league's second-placed Forssan Alku in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TuRi will play against HoNsU (#7) in Jyvaskyla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
