Regular Season Round 14: Challans - Orchy 99-101 OT

Fifteenth-ranked Vendee Challans (3-9) gave a tough game to first ranked Orchesien BC (10-2) on Saturday. The visitors from Orchies managed to secure only two-point victory 101-99. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 32-21 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-6. Orchesien BC made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. Point guard Emilien Barbry (188-83) scored 16 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Antoine Belkessa (186-88) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Johan Rathieuville (177-85) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Orchesien BC maintains first position with 10-2 record. Vendee Challans at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with nine games lost. Orchesien BC will face Monaco (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vendee Challans will play against CFBB (#16) in Paris and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
