Regular Season Round 14: TU/Rock - Juventus 114-97

There was no surprise when one of their biggest challengers Lithuanian Juventus (5-5) lost to first ranked Estonian TU/Rock (9-1) in Tartu 97-114 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TU/Rock. Juventus was better in third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TU/Rock shot 60.9 percent from the field. TU/Rock outrebounded Juventus 28-16. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. TU/Rock looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Juventus' players. Guard Valmo Kriisa (190-74) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Tanel Kurbas (197-88) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. TU/Rock's coach Gert Kullamae used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Juventus. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. TU/Rock have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Juventus at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost.
