No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (6-9) defeated at home 10th ranked DSK Karlin (3-12) 75-59. The game without a history. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary outrebounded DSK Karlin 51-35 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. DSK Karlin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Lauren Bell (172-90, college: Pepperdine) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Irish guard Orla O'Reilly (182-90, college: Binghamton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Veronika Bortelova (172-78) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and German guard Lea Mersch (170-87) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for DSK Karlin. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary maintains eighth place with 6-9 record. DSK Karlin at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Strakonice. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary will play against higher ranked VSE Praha (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DSK Karlin will play against Aldast Strakonice (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
