Regular Season Round 21: BC Nokia - HyPo 85-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked HyPo's (1-15) road loss to tenth ranked BC Nokia (3-14) 66-85. BC Nokia forced 20 HyPo turnovers. American guard Amani Franklin (180-88, college: Kentucky) nailed 26 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import forward Shakara Jones (187-88, college: Missouri) accounted for 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. American forward Phebe Smith (183, college: Columbus St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) came up with 9 points and 17 rebounds and guard Aino Tuomi (165-90) added 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for HyPo in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted BC Nokia maintains tenth place with 3-14 record. HyPo lost fourteenth consecutive game. HyPo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. BC Nokia will play against higher ranked Aanekosken (#6) in Aanekoski in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HyPo will play at home against Kerava Energia Team (#8) to get more than just one victory in their record.
