Regular Season Round 11: Strasbourg - Le Mans 83-63

There was a change at the ProA leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Le Mans (7-4). They were crushed by seventh ranked Strasbourg IG (6-5) 83-63 on Monday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 20 points. Strasbourg IG outrebounded Le Mans 37-21 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points. The former international center Alexis Ajinca (215-88, agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Pape Sy (201-88) responded with 17 points and American guard Khalid El-Amin (178-79, college: Connecticut) scored 10 points and 5 assists. Le Mans' coach J.D. Jackson rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Strasbourg IG moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cholet and ASVEL. Le Mans at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Chalon who have the same record. Le Mans will play next round against STB Le Havre trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Strasbourg IG will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Boulazac Basket on the road.
