Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce Ulker (#1) and Galatasaray (#2). Fenerbahce Ulker (10-1) won against visiting Galatasaray (9-2) 74-67. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Galatasaray took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fenerbahce Ulker had a 23-16 second period charge getting the lead and Galatasaray was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-74. Fenerbahce Ulker made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for international Emir Preldzic (205-87, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian-Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) helped adding 18 points. Fenerbahce Ulker's coach Simone Pianigiani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American swingman Jamont Gordon (193-87, college: Mississippi St.) responded with 13 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Fenerbahce Ulker have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-1 record. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against Antalya (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Galatasaray will play against Gaziantep (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
