Eleventh-ranked Delikatesas (9-12) gave a tough game to second ranked Dzukija (16-5) in Joniskis on Friday. The visitors from Alytus managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Delikatesas trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 32-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-73 at the end of the game. Polish center Cezary Trybanski (218-79) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Mantas Pukinskas (198-89) with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (184-88) scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dzukija have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Dzukija maintains second place with 16-5 record behind leader Mazeikiai. Delikatesas at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Perlas-MRU. Dzukija are looking forward to face Suduva-Mantinga (#3) in Marijampole in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Delikatesas will play on the road against Olimpas (#4) in Plunge and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
