The game between closely ranked teams ended with 16th ranked USC Leipzig's (3-12) road loss to fifteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (5-10) 78-101. The game was mostly controlled by Crailsheim Merlins. USC Leipzig was better in third quarter 32-31. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crailsheim Merlins players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by USC Leipzig's players. It was a good game for naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Derek Coleman (180-84, college: Robert Morris) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Naturalized Russian forward Nikita Khartchenkov (200-87) answered with 17 points and Czech power forward Jaroslav Tyrna (207-86, college: New Orleans) added 15 points in the effort for USC Leipzig. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Gotha and Kirchheim. USC Leipzig lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be higher ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#9) in Allmendingen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USC Leipzig will play at home against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#13).
