Very expected game when 7th ranked Leuven Bears (3-7) were defeated on the road by second ranked Okapi Aalstar (7-3) 98-92 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 35-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Okapi Aalstar made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American guard Ryan Thompson (198-89, college: Rider) fired 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Five Okapi Aalstar and four Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar keeps a position of league leader, which they share with M.Hainaut. Loser Leuven Bears keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Okapi Aalstar will meet league's leader Belfius Mons-Hainaut in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leuven Bears will play against Base Oostende (#3) and hope to secure a win.
