Regular Season Round 17: Shenyang - Shanghai 79-86

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (11-6) against seventh ranked Shanghai Octopus (9-8) on Saturday night. Host Shenyang Golden Lions were defeated by Shanghai Octopus in a tough game in Dandong 79-86. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Shenyang Golden Lions. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. It was a great shooting night for Shanghai Octopus especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. American swingman Camille Little (188-85, college: N.Carolina) stepped up and scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Jing Huang (183-85) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. International forward LiJie Miao (178-81) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 assists and forward Meng Li (185-95) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Shanghai Octopus moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Beijing. Loser Shenyang Golden Lions keep the third position with six games lost. Shanghai Octopus will meet bottom-ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Shenyang Golden Lions will play against the league's second-placed Shanxi (#2) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
