The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Le Mans' (8-5) home victory over 7th ranked Cholet (6-7) 79-55 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Le Mans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cholet's 30. Quite impressive performance for swingman Pape Sy (201-88) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Brazilian power forward Joao Paulo Batista (207-81, college: Gonzaga) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. American guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) answered with 10 points and 6 assists and center Rudy Gobert (212-92) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cholet. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Le Mans moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Cholet lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Le Mans will face Poitiers (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cholet will play against Chorale de Roanne (#10).
