Regular Season Round 19: Santa Cruz W. - Springfield A. 113-101
Date: December 27, 2012
Another home game, another win for the Santa Cruz Warriors. Kent Bazemore scored 26 points, and the Warriors defeated the Springfield Armor 113-101 on Thursday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena in the team's second-ever home game. With the win, the Warriors improved to 7-2. It was the first of back-to-back meetings between the two teams. They will play at 7 p.m. Friday night. Bazemore, along with Jeremy Tyler, once again joined the Warriors hours before tip, as the Golden State Warriors assigned the duo to Santa Cruz. Tyler contributed with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Johnson scored 24 points off the bench. Fans will likely give him extra kudos for his dunk with 5:51 that gave the Warriors a 100-84 lead. By reaching 100 points, the Warriors handed out coupons to fans at the arena for a free Slurpee at 7-Eleven. The benchmark is common among NBA teams, although the prize varies.
