Regular Season Round 19: B&W Opava - Chomutov 80-82

A very close game took place in Opava between Levharti Chomutov and B&W Opava. Eighth ranked Levharti Chomutov (8-11) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked B&W Opava (6-12). Levharti Chomutov managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Saturday evening. B&W Opava was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 17-14 charge of Levharti Chomutov, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Pavel Bosak (192-82) helped adding 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Levharti Chomutov players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Ladislav Sokolovsky (200-77) responded with 31 points and forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Levharti Chomutov maintains eighth place with 8-11 record, which they share with USK Praha. B&W Opava lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Svitavy. Levharti Chomutov will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. B&W Opava will play against BC Kolin (#5) and hope to secure a win.
