Very predictable result in Jiyuan where fourth ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (12-7) defeated 11th ranked Henan Elephants (5-14) 93-87. Henan Elephants were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 59-51 second half run of Shenyang Golden Lions. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for international forward LiJie Miao (178-81) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Dan Liu (194-87) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jayne Appel (193-88, college: Stanford) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Jing Wang (188-84) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Henan Elephants. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shenyang Golden Lions moved-up to third place, which they share with Liaoning. Henan Elephants at the other side keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Shenyang Golden Lions' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Zhejiang Far East in Hangzhou and it will be for sure the game of the week. Henan Elephants will play at home against Heilongjiang Chenneng (#12) in Harbin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
