Regular Season Round 34: Halychyna - Azovmash 80-78

The most exciting game of round 34 in the Superleague took place in Lviv. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Azovmash (17-6) to fifth ranked Halychyna (14-10) 80-78 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Azovmash. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 22 points. The former international center Oleksiy Pecherov (213-85) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) added 8 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Halychyna have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Azovmash at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Ferro-ZNTU. Halychyna are looking forward to face BC Donetsk (#7) at home in the next round. Azovmash will play against Hoverla (#5) in Frankivsk and is hoping to win this game.
