Very important is a road loss of second ranked Elitzur Ramla (7-4) against eighth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (4-7) on Monday night. Visiting Elitzur Ramla was defeated by Hap.Petah Tikva in a tough game in Petah Tikva 66-75. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 45-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (193-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Ronsport) who added 20 points and 14 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. Four Hap.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Allison Hightower (178-88, college: LSU, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with 23 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import center Kaayla Chones (191-81, college: N.Carolina St.) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Hap.Petah Tikva moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Elitzur Holon. Loser Elitzur Ramla keeps the second position with four games lost. Hap.Petah Tikva will meet Elitzur Netanya (#8) on the road in the next round. Elitzur Ramla will play against the league's leader Maccabi Ashdod (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
