Very important is a home loss of second ranked Dzukija (17-6) against fifth ranked Triobet (15-8) on Friday night. Host Dzukija was defeated by Triobet in a tough game in Alytus 73-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Dzukija. It looked good early as Dzukija took an 17-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Triobet took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 6 points. They outrebounded Dzukija 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Arturas Lencevicius (186-87) helped adding 18 points. Five Triobet players scored in double figures. Forward Povilas Sakinis (199-80) responded with 20 points and American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Triobet have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga. Newly promoted Dzukija keeps the second position with six games lost. Triobet will play against higher ranked Olimpas (#3) in Plunge in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play at home against the league's leader Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
