There was no surprise when 18th ranked Bordeaux (2-16) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Nantes (7-11) 89-85 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 21-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Nantes made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Bordeaux was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) who scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
