Regular Season Round 12: Doxa Lefkadas - OFI 72-66

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked OFI (2-10) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Doxa Lefkadas (2-10) 72-66 on Saturday. OFI was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-15 charge of Doxa Lefkadas, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Orestis Matenidis (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Darko Matic (192-84) who added 16 points during the contest. Four Doxa Lefkadas players scored in double figures. Doxa Lefkadas' coach Thomas Zavitsanos allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Vassilis Kitsoulis (204-83) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Bulgarian center Krum Doychinov (206-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Doxa Lefkadas moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Niki Volou and OFI. Doxa Lefkadas will face higher ranked Arkadikos (#10) in Arkadia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. OFI will play at home against Ermis Lagkada (#9) in Lagadas.
