Regular Season Round 22: St.John M.R. - Summerside S. 104-112

The Saint John Mill Rats presented by Rogers, lost their first home game of a double header on Thursday night at Harbour Station against the Summerside Storm with a final score of 112-104. The Storm bolted out of the gate hard gaining a lead until just over midway into the first quarter. The Mill Rats were able to get their first lead after a basket from Sheray Thomas, 16-17. Their lead didn't last long as the Storm closed the first leading 29-22. The second quarter, the Mill Rats battled back hard as rowdy fans cheered the team on. They outscored the Storm, 24-21, closing the half just trailing behind, 50-46. The third quarter, both teams were neck and neck. The Storm was able to keep a three point lead, closing the third, 77-74. The last quarter, the Storm were able to pull ahead as the Mill Rats couldn't drop the shots they needed. With 5:53 on the clock, the Storm led 95-90 but they were able to spread the gap as the Mill Rats couldn't make their shots count from the line. The Storm's total free throw percentage was 88.9% while the Mill Rats were 63.3%. Tonight was a big game for Cavell Johnson who posted a double double and was the top scorer of the game, with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jerice Crouch was the team's second's leading scorer with 23 points. Leading the Storm were Brandon Robinson with 24 and Omari Johnson who also posted a double double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
