Abejas completed the quarterfinal picture. They handed Huracanes the third loss in the series to seal the next round appearance. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 42-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Huracanes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) fired 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners.
