Quarter-Finals Round 5: Panteras - Soles 83-87

Soles are now one step away from the semifinal stage following a narrow road win over Panteras. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Panteras won third quarter 28-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panteras were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Soles players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) produced 33 points (!!!) and Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Panteras' coach Juan Cardona let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
