Quarter-Finals Round 5: Pioneros - Toros 72-74

Toros sealed their semifinal appearance beating Pioneros on the road. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-17. But Pioneros won second period 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: ProSportsCareers) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) chipped in 16 points. Jamaican-American point guard Akeem Scott (186-83, college: High Point) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Mike Williams (201-85, college: Cincinnati) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros' coach Josep Claros rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
