Regular Season Round 30: Beijing Ducks - DongGuan L. 118-105

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Beijing Ducks (19-9) beat at home 6th ranked DongGuan Leopards (15-13) 118-105. The game was mostly controlled by Beijing Ducks. DongGuan Leopards was better in second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Beijing Ducks dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to DongGuan Leopards' 50 and made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Beijing Ducks had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) notched 48 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) supported him with 29 points and 7 rebounds. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for DongGuan Leopards. point guard Blake Ahearn (188-84, college: Missouri St.) added 22 points. Four Beijing Ducks and five DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks maintains third position with 19-9 record having six points less than leader Guangdong ST. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Zhejiang CB. Beijing Ducks will play against league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. DongGuan Leopards will play on the road against TianJin Steel (#14) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
