Regular Season Round 31: Shinshu BW - Gunma 85-74

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Shinshu BW (14-15) defeated 10th ranked Gunma (5-24) in Nagano 85-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Gunma was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Gunma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Quite impressive performance for power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) added 12 points in the effort for Gunma. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW maintains seventh place with 14-15 record. Gunma lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 24 games lost. Shinshu BW will face again Gunma (#10) at home in the next round.
