There was a minor upset when higher ranked Cholet (8-10) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked JSF Nanterre (8-10) 84-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-77. JSF Nanterre forced 20 Cholet turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman David Lighty (195-88, college: Ohio St.) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Chris Oliver (198-85, college: Radford) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard A.J. Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky) who recorded 15 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman, agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 16 points respectively. Cholet's coach Jean Manuel Sousa let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. JSF Nanterre moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Cholet and Roanne. JSF Nanterre will face higher ranked Le Mans (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
