Regular Season Round 19: La Rochelle - Rueil 76-65

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked La Rochelle and 9th ranked Rueil had identical 9-7 record. This time La Rochelle used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Rueil 76-65 on Saturday night. Rueil was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 21-8 charge of La Rochelle, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for naturalized Madagascar swingman Amy M'Boma (199-83) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists. British forward Andrew Thomson (205-84, college: Catawba) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five La Rochelle players scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St., agency: TSS Management) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Karim Gourari (201-89) added 15 points in the effort for Rueil. La Rochelle (10-7) moved-up to sixth place. Loser Rueil dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. La Rochelle will face higher ranked Cognac (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rueil will play against the league's leader JA Vichy (#1).
