Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Olympiakos (#10) and Asteras (#8). Asteras was defeated at home 64-71 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 7 points. Olympiakos forced 19 Asteras turnovers. Strangely Asteras outrebounded Olympiakos 40-21 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dimitra Chavale who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international forward Niki Zerva (183-79) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Four Olympiakos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Theodora Panteli (183-87, college: Binghamton) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds and forward Sotiria Marinou (173) added 16 points respectively. Newly promoted Olympiakos maintains tenth place with 4-11 record. Asteras lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Terpsithea. Olympiakos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panathinaikos.
