Regular Season Round 32: Yokohama BC - Saitama Bron. 86-82
Date: February 3, 2013
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (3-25) were defeated on the road by second ranked Yokohama BC (22-8) 86-82 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saitama Broncos won third quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul, agency: Top Notch Sports) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. American swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Court Side) responded with 37 points (!!!) and guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yokohama BC have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Saitama Broncos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 25 games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play at home against Shinshu BW (#7) in Nagano.
