Regular Season Round 14: Hitachi SR - Toshiba BT 74-86

JBL round 14 most important game was a victory of Toshiba Thunders over one of their biggest challengers Hitachi Sunrockers 86-74 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Hitachi Sunrockers managed to win fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Toshiba Thunders especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Junki Kano (192-88) added 21 points in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Toshiba Thunders are looking forward to face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against Panasonic Trians in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
