Regular Season Round 96: Miami Heat - Charlotte B. 99-94

Date: February 4, 2013
The Charlotte Bobcats pulled, fought and scrapped at the Miami Heat with an admirable road effort, but the Heat were able to get enough from their stars to pull away in the fourth quarter and win 99-94. The Bobcats (11-36) entered the game 29th in the NBA in defensive rating, and this game didn't deviate from that much as Miami shot 51 percent from the field. The Bobcats were able to shoot 18-of-20 at the free throw line, though, and got some good bounces in that the Heat were missing their 3-pointers. In the end, Miami's (31-14) top loaded roster was too much. LeBron James shot 13-of-14 for 31 points, to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists. The night was memorable in that it was one of the three most efficient nights in Heat history, up there with a pair of former star Heat centers. Shaquille O'Neal made 15-of-16 baskets on Feb. 26, 2006 and Alonzo Mourning made 13 of 14 buckets on Feb. 23, 2000. In summary, something about February makes players have super historical efficient games in Miami, and, in other news, LeBron James can play basketball. Dwyane Wade generally had a tough offensive night, despite ending up with 20 points. He continued his sub par free throw shooting and struggled from the field (7-of-19), but snatched a season best 12 rebounds, including a career mark of six offensive boards, to lead Miami. Chris Bosh had another double digit 4th period and finished with 23 points. The Bobcats were led by 18 points from Ramon Sessions. Courtesy of: hothothoops.com
