Semi-Finals Game 1: Halc.Xalapa - Soles 82-80

Halcones Xalapa escaped with a tough home win over Soles in the semifinal series opener. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Soles won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Halcones UV Xalapa won last quarter 15-14. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Halcones UV Xalapa made 7 blocks. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) fired 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in 19 points. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach Angel Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington, agency: SportsTalent) produced 30 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) added 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side.
