Semi-Finals Game 2: Halc.Xalapa - Soles 102-78

Halcones Xalapa celebrated the second win in a row against Soles. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones UV Xalapa. Soles was better in fourth quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Soles 47-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Halcones UV Xalapa players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Soles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 21 rebounds. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) added 14 points in the effort for Soles. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
