No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Statyba (18-11) defeated on the road 15th ranked Silute (9-20) 97-82 on Friday. The guests trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Statyba dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Silute's 28. They outrebounded Silute 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Statyba players scored in double figures. Guard Evaldas Saulys (193-93) produced 30 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) and swingman Marius Kasiulevicius (198-82, college: Trinity Valley JC) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Statyba have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Triobet and Zanavykas. Loser Silute keeps the fifteenth position with 20 games lost.
