Express L. top team - Grindavik (13-3) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked IR (4-12) 102-80. The hosts trailed by 16 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 22 points. Grindavik dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to IR's 44. They outrebounded IR 47-33 including 18 on the offensive glass. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The other American import point guard Sammy Zeglinski (182-88, college: Virginia) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. Grindavik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Dandre Williams (177-90, college: UALR) produced 29 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Sveinbjorn Claessen (191-86) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four IR players scored in double figures. Grindavik have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-3 record.
