Semi-Finals Game 5: Soles - Halc.Xalapa 56-75

Halcones Xalapa surged ahead against Soles following the road success in Game 5. They are now looking to close out the series at home court on Thursday. It looked good early as Soles took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Halcones UV Xalapa had a 21-15 second period charge getting the lead and Soles were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-75. Halcones UV Xalapa dominated on the defensive end, holding Soles to just 7 points in third quarter. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American guard LeRoy Hickerson (196-82, college: Cumberlands) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. International guard Orlando Mendez-Valdez (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Halcones UV Xalapa players scored in double figures. Halcones UV Xalapa's coach Angel Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Kentrell Gransberry (206-85, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Panamanian forward Jamelle Horne (200-88, college: Arizona) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Soles.
