Regular Season Round 23: Fos Ouest - Nantes 71-68

Date: February 12, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Nantes (9-14) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Fos Ouest (14-9) 71-68 on Tuesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 24-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fos Ouest made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (202-78) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American swingman Chris Davis (195-80, college: N.Texas, agency: Court Side) helped adding 16 points. Four Fos Ouest players scored in double figures. Fos Ouest's coach Remi Giutta used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward James Mathis (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Court Side) responded with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Cedric Ferchaud (195-80) scored 13 points. Fos Ouest have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Boulogne. Loser Nantes keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Fos Ouest will face league's second-placed ALM Evreux on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nantes will play against SPO Rouen (#10).
