Sixteenth-ranked Silute (10-22) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (20-12) in Kaunas. Zalgiris-Sabonio managed to secure only two-point victory 93-91. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 27-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. Zalgiris-Sabonio outrebounded Silute 46-32 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by forward Marius Grigonis (198-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (200-93) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by power forward Gytis Pakalniskis (205-89) did not help to save the game for Silute. Guard Evaldas Saulys (193-93) added 22 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zalgiris-Sabonio have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Statyba. Silute at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 22 games lost. Zalgiris-Sabonio's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Dzukija in Alytus and it may be quite challenging game. Silute will play at home against Radviliskis (#12).
