Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Fersped-Rabotnicki (5-6) rolled over bottom-ranked Pelister Bitola (1-10) in Skopje 108-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Fersped-Rabotnicki. Pelister Bitola was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fersped-Rabotnicki dominated on the defensive end, holding Pelister Bitola to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pelister Bitola's 30. Fersped-Rabotnicki forced 19 Pelister Bitola turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Fersped-Rabotnicki especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pelister Bitola's players. American-Somalian forward Mohammed Abukar (208-85, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. American point guard John Sharper (186-84, college: San Diego St.) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Fersped-Rabotnicki players scored in double figures. Serbian center Aleksandar Kalanj (208-86) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian point guard Nikola Vukasovic (192-91) added 11 points in the effort for Pelister Bitola. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fersped-Rabotnicki moved-up to fifth place, which they share with ABA Strumica. Loser Pelister Bitola stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Fersped-Rabotnicki will face higher ranked Kumanovo 2009 (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pelister Bitola will play against the league's leader Kozuv (#1) in Gevgelija.
