Regular Season Round 29: Oshawa P. - London L. 103-115

Date: February 20, 2013
In a battle at the top of the Central Conference, the league-leading London Lightning proved too lethal for the Oshawa Power in their National Basketball League of Canada contest in Oshawa Wednesday night. A strong first quarter by the Power gave way to a sub-par second stanza as the visiting and conference-leading Lightning (27-4) took control the rest of the way en route to a 115-103 victory at the General Motors Centre. After trailing 27-26 after the first quarter, the host Power suffered an offensive outage in the second quarter, outscored 31-16 in the stanza. Facing a 15-point deficit entering the second half, the Power were unable to make up the difference. Starting guard Papa Oppong led the way for the Power with 25 points, and chipped in with six rebounds. Mark Gomillia ended the night with 24 for Oshawa. The Power were in Montreal against the Jazz last Sunday where they pulled out an 86-82 victory. William 'Bo' Harris (20), Larry Diamond (18) and Oppong (13) scored in double figures for Oshawa. The Power host the Moncton Miracles tonight (Thursday, Feb. 21) at the General Motors Centre. The Power will play two more home games next week, including the London Lightning on Wednesday, Feb. 27 and the Summerside Storm on Thursday, Feb. 28. Start time for all games is 7 p.m. Courtesy of: durhamregion.com
