Regular Season Round 24: LTi 46ers - TBB Trier 72-77

Very predictable result when eleventh ranked TBB Trier (11-12) won against bottom-ranked LTi 46ers (4-19) in Giessen 77-72 on Saturday. LTi 46ers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. TBB Trier made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The other American import Barry Stewart (191-88, college: Mississippi St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. TBB Trier's coach Henrik Roedl used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (212-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Morris Curry (178-87, college: Providence) added 15 points in the effort for LTi 46ers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TBB Trier moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Phoenix Hagen. LTi 46ers lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. TBB Trier will face BBC Bayreuth (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. LTi 46ers will play against Telekom Baskets (#7) in Bonn.
