There was an upset when higher ranked Pinheiros (15-8) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked Winner/Limeira (11-14) 82-81 on Wednesday. Pinheiros was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was Dominican-American guard Ronald Ramon (182-86, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Omar Carter (195-88, college: Appalachian St.) chipped in 23 points. Winner/Limeira's coach Demetrius Ferraciu used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Marcio Dornelles (194-75) produced 22 points and the former international power forward Mineiro Ferreira (208-88) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Winner/Limeira maintains twelfth position with 11-14 record. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Winner/Limeira will face league's second-placed Brasilia at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pinheiros will play against Joinville.
