Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Znicz Basket (13-14) outplayed 14th ranked SKK Siedlce (7-19) in Pruszkow 81-61 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Znicz Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to SKK Siedlce's 34. Znicz Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Marcin Matuszewski (194-82) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Michal Aleksandrowicz (188-89) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Znicz Basket players scored in double figures. Swingman Przemyslaw Lewandowski (204-78, agency: Promotex) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and forward Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for SKK Siedlce in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Znicz Basket moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Polonia and Spojnia. Loser SKK Siedlce keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Znicz Basket will meet higher ranked Sokol Lancut (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKK Siedlce will play against UMKS Kielce (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
