Second Stage Round 4: USK Praha - Svitavy 83-81

Date: March 6, 2013
Sixth-ranked Basketbal Svitavy (9-21) made lots of trouble for second ranked USK Praha (13-17). USK Praha managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The winners were led by point guard Michal Sotnar (189-92) who scored that evening 14 points and 7 assists and Congolese-French forward Boris Meno (203-83, college: Davidson, agency: Two Points) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by forward Jiri Jelinek (203-87) did not help to save the game for Basketbal Svitavy. American point guard Michael Deloach (183-86, college: Norfolk St.) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Basketbal Svitavy's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. USK Praha maintains second position in Group A2 with 13-17 record having just one points less than leader Levice. Basketbal Svitavy lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 21 games lost. USK Praha's next round opponent will be BK Usti nad Labem (#7) on the road where they are favorite. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Lions Hradec in J.Hradec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
