The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Thunderbirds won third quarter 26-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Axemen made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Tyler Scott (188) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international forward Owen Klassen (208-91) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Axemen players scored in double figures. Guard O'Brian Wallace (185, college: Miles CC) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Brylle Kamen (201, college: San Jose St.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Thunderbirds. Thunderbirds' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
