Regular Season Round 25: St Chamond - Challans 85-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Vendee Challans' (7-15) road loss to thirteenth ranked Saint Chamond (9-13) 72-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. Vendee Challans was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saint Chamond made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Vendee Challans turnovers. It was a very good performance for Latvian swingman Ingus Bankevics (195-85, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Petras Balocka (205-86, college: Hawaii) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Vendee Challans. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saint Chamond moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Chartres. Loser Vendee Challans keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Saint Chamond will face higher ranked Souffelweyersheim (#3) in Souffel. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play at home against Chartres (#11).
